Earlier bits: One, Two, Three
Jensen felt kind of bad for his new roommate. Jared seemed lost, and Jensen remembered how overwhelmed he'd felt at the beginning of his freshman year, and he'd at least had Julian with him, as his roommate.
Jen's first night at school he'd lain in his bed and stared at the ceiling and wanted to cry. Julian crawled in with him—they'd slept in the same bed together every night since the cradle. When they were tiny babies their mother said that when they cried she put them together in the crib and they rubbed each others earlobes' and sucked each others' fingers and quieted down right away, and bless her heart, she never seemed to think it was weird that they were still sleeping together in a twin bed even when they came home for the summer. But Juli had crawled in with him and had been full of plans for what high school was going to be like, and how they were going to meet all the cool guys, and trick all the teachers who couldn't tell them apart, and ditch classes and hang out underneath the bleachers and a million other things that they never actually ended up doing. But Jen had just looked up at the ceiling and blinked hard and listened to Juli talk into his neck and then he couldn't hold it in any more and he'd been biting his lip and a tear had slid down his cheek and after a bit Julian'd gone quiet too and Jen felt a single hitching breath that showed that Julian was crying, too.
Jen was sitting at lunch and poking at some truly disgusting mashed potatoes as he considered this, and he poked Julian with his foot across the table and said, “Juli, remember when we were freshmen?”
Julian was pouting, and had been since the beginning of the year, and Jensen was worried about him. “No,” Julian said sullenly, stirring his own mashed potatoes listlessly with his fork. Angry that Jensen wasn't kicking Jared out of his room to let Julian move in, and bitter at the whole roommate situation, Julian was getting into far more fights than usual and accumulating bruises at a worrying rate. Jensen was afraid that one of these days he was going to be pulled out of class and told that his brother was in the hospital, or something.
“*I* remember when you were freshmen,” Michael said gleefully next to Julian.
Tom laughed goodnaturedly. “Mike was so excited, he showed up at my door and he was all like, 'Twins! Fucking twins!'” Tom waved his hands around to try to demonstrate Mike's excitement.
Mike shook his head. “And there you two were, all pretty and gullible.”
Julian snorted, objecting to being called gullible, since being called pretty wouldn't bother him.
“And Mike was all trying to convince you that all freshmen had to go through the standard hazing ritual of swallowing a goldfish while giving head--” Tom had to stop for a moment, he was laughing so hard, and Mike was giggling madly at the memory and Chris was laughing now too.
“How come I've never heard this story before?” Chris protested, and even Jensen was smiling fondly at the memory. Julian pouted, he didn't like to be reminded of things he'd done when he was young and stupid.
“And I was all,” Tom continued, “like, how can they be buying this? And I'm about to tell Mike to back off and Juli's all like, 'What size goldfish?' and Jen's like, 'Does that even feel good?'”
Mike had collapsed onto Julian's shoulder in his giggling fit, and Julian was irritatedly pushing him away. Chris was laughing uproariously and slapping his leg and people from other tables were starting to look over to see what the commotion was about.
“Does it feel good, Jen?” Chris asked, grinning.
Jensen grinned back, “You'd have to ask Mike,” he said, but Mike was laughing so hard he had tears coming out of his eyes now, and was wiping at them with the cuffs of his shirt.
“So what happened?” Chris demanded.
“Mike told the boys that he would cut them a special deal, and let them skip the goldfish part.”
Chris shook his head, still laughing, he knew Julian and Jensen well enough to guess how it all went from there. “So how surprised were you when they just dropped down to their knees?” he asked Mike.
Mike just barked out a laugh again, and Tom continued, grinning broadly, “He was pretty fucking surprised, that's for sure.”
“Yeah?” Chris said.
“Yeah, 'cause Juli here drops to his knees and starts opening Jenny's pants, and then he stops suddenly, and like, we're holding our breath at that point, but Juli's just like, 'Did you want us to blow *you*? Or each other?' and Mike is just like, 'Uh, *both*?' and his voice cracked as he said it, and Julian's just like, 'Well, if you move over here, Jen can do you while I do him.'”
“That was the fasted I ever unzipped,” Mike said smugly, hugging one arm over Julian's shoulders affectionately, but Julian was still pouting and shrugged Mike's arm off.
“Oh man,” Chris said, still shaking his head, and he echoed himself, “Oh, man, I missed all the best stuff.”
Jensen was smiling to himself now, his memories of being homesick and sad freshman year balanced out by all the memories of the whacky trouble Julian had gotten the two of them into. Julian stood up suddenly, and picked up his tray, and walked off to dump his trash. Jensen sighed as he went, and wondered if he should follow Julian.
“What's with him?” Mike said, watching Julian leave, but he didn't even allow time for anyone to answer him before he continued, “So, Tommy's got the movies for tonight.”
“Yeah?” Chris said, looking at Tom. Tom had his mouth full of beans but he nodded anyway.
“Eight o'clock?” Mike raised his eyebrows at everyone. “Jenny, your roommate's cool with it?”
Jen nodded. “I told him this morning.”
“That's good,” Mike said, starting to grin again, “We'd hate for the little freshman to be all alone on Friday night.” He looked at Jensen for a moment and his grin suddenly got a little wider. “I think Jenny's got a crush,” Mike sing-songed, and Chris looked at Jensen with an expression of genuine curiosity. Jen shook his head quickly.
“He's a nice kid,” Jen protested.
“Jenny, why didn't you tell us you had a thing for the sweet young 'uns?” Mike said mercilessly, and Jensen rolled his eyes, and laughed, and smacked his hands down on the table.
“I don't!” he insisted, but if he were Chris and Tom and Mike he wouldn't believe himself either. He was just glad Julian wasn't around for this—Julian was pissed at him enough already.
